Welcome to our home away from home, and yours too! We are Kimberly and Daniel Guest. We are so excited you are checking out our website, and hope you are planning your stay with us at LYC!

This page is for you to learn a little about us, the Guests, your hosts!

We met in 2008, started dating in 2009, got married in 2014, had our daughter (Lottie) in 2019, and purchased LYC in 2021 on a whim.

We permanently reside just outside of downtown Rochester. We are seasoned campers (with a travel trailer), love traveling outside of the U.S. when we can, and spend most of our free time chasing our toddler around our pink brick ranch built in the 1960s.

Daniel

• Obnoxiously obsessed with sports of all kinds

• Roots for MSU. Go Green! Go white!

  • Has been known to watch U of M games

• Loves buying backpacks

• Professional over eater, especially with his mom's spaghetti

• Is pretty handy with household chores like fixing toilets, painting walls and cleaning his wife's hair out of drains

• Is a better cook than his wife

• Occasionally orders random items online like lip balms or bathroom towels

• Uses a pink shower loofah

• Loves craft beer and top-shelf bourbon

• Puts laundry away faster than most adults

• Has a professional background in Corporate Finance and knows terms like Retained Earnings and Amortization

• Absolute wiz with excel

  • Dare anyone to challenge that

• Frequently buys matching shoes with his wife

• Sometimes tears up at sad ASPCA commercials

• Owns a lot of cat shirts

• Big fan of Tears for Fears

Kimberly

• Loves dollar stores & clearance sections

• Will home any animal

• Constantly tinkers with idea of owning a chinchilla or weasel

• Definite hypochondriac or at least catastrophic thinker

• Holds 3 college degrees, has no idea where they are within the depths of the basement or crawl space

• Professional background in Human Resources and Payroll Management

  • Often made employees cry in her office

• Always wants bangs. Currently has bangs. Currently regrets having bangs

• Loves yoga

• Loves hiking

• Amateur thrift shopper

• Hardcore hoarder

• Likes camping and peeing in the woods

• Thrill seeker

• Once shimmied a lock open for a stranger out of a public bathroom in the Dominican Republic with a salad fork

• Has an irrational fear of monkeys

• Drives a Jeep Wrangler and calls it her car

• Known for writing business emails in full rhymes start to finish

Lottie June

• Absolute basket-case

• Born 8 weeks early at 3 lbs

• Over achiever with growing baby teeth at a rapid pace

• Obsessed with everything Paw Patrol

• Owns several pairs of boho-chic moccasins

• Calls fire trucks "nine nine"

• Occasionally bites people

• Just recently grew out of eating fistfuls of dog food despite being told not to

• Likes to play in the kitchen sink and soak the kitchen floor

• Loves longs baths and pina coladas

• Has been known to dance in the rain

• Despises her mom's cooking

• Loves eating chicken nuggets immediately fresh from any drive thru

  • Calls said chicken nuggets "cluck cluck"

• Hugs any cats she can get her hands on

• Nudist in the summer on the patio

• Occasionally sleeps with weird items like a kitchen ladle or wooden puzzle pieces

• Diehard fan of Hall and Oates

Mr. Pickles

• Terrified of EVERYTHING

• Known for stealing human food off the kitchen table

• Loves pipe cleaners

• Has a tail that strongly resembles a black squirrel

Betty

• Red mix husky from New Mexico

• Sheds fur 24/7

• Always less than 3 feet from us at all times

• Will go swimming in the lake in midwinter when ice is present

• Most likely has a low IQ

• Possesses a high level of good looks

• Very good girl
