Where are we located?
We are located at 114 Union Street, in downtown Port Austin, one block south of the Port Austin public beach and Marina.
Where do we park?
Please park in the public parking lot on the corner of Union and Arch St, just east of the cottages. Please do not park on the lawn. On Friday nights we do request you park on the street in front of the cottage to help leave the spots next to the gymnasium for the vendors coming into town.
Do you have outdoor storage?
Yes, we have a white fenced in area on the back side of the property which is used to store our wagons (free for our guests to use) and hidden storage for anything you might have brought with you which can be stored outside.
Are we located on the water?
We are located one block off the public beach. A walk to the beach is less than 2 minutes (depending on your pace!).
Is there a public beach in town?
Yes, we have two public beaches. Veteran’s Waterfront Park & Bird Creek Park. In addition to the public beach, Veteran’s Waterfront Park has a very nice newly updated playground.
Are pets allowed?
No, we do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but we do not accept pets in our cottages. And trust us, we love pets!
Is there a minimum night stay?
Minimum 3 night bookings to start the 2024season
Minimum 7 night bookings during July
Minimum 5 night bookings during August
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel less than 30 days of your reservation, you will receive a 50% refund. Anything before that is 100% refundable.
Is there WiFi?
Yes. Wifi info is posted inside each cottage.
Do we have ice?
Since each cottage has a refrigerator with ice trays to make ice, we do not have an ice machine, however, bagged ice is available at several stores nearby.
Is there a fire pit?
Yes, we have one large fire pit in the common area.
Is firewood provided?
No, you must provide your own wood for the fire pit. There are several places in town that sell firewood.
Are there grills and picnic tables on site?
Yes, we have a a few picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and a propane grill on site for everyone to use. Propane is provided by the hosts
Is coffee provided?
Each cottage contains a coffee maker, filters and coffee
Can I smoke on site?
We have a strict no smoking policy at the Little Yellow Cottages which per our Terms and Conditions will result in a $500 fine.
Is there boat parking?
Yes, there are several public areas for designated boat parking along the shore.
Is there a fish cleaning station on site?
No, we do not have a cleaning station and we do not allow fish cleaning on our property.
Do we need to bring anything for our cabin stay?

Our goal is to provide guests with toilet paper, paper towel and garbage bags so that they don’t need to purchase any extra. However, the supply could be low at anytime, and we encourage guests to leave anything behind they don’t use for the following guests to use.
Do we need to wash dishes before we check out?
Yes, the dishes are there for your convenience and must be washed prior to check out.
What do I need to do before checkout?
We ask that guests leave each cottage just as they found it, or in even better condition. We have a small staff of offsite cleaning assistance who disinfect and clean each cottage between guests, and are very grateful to avoid large messes.
Are hair dryers available in each cottage?
Yes, each cottage has a hair dryer,
Is a pull-wagon available?
Yes, wagons are available and located in the white fenced in area next to our shed. Please return them after use.
Is there a quiet time?
Little Yellow Cottage respects a quiet time of 9pm - 9am in consideration of other guests, as well as our residential neighbors.
What do we do with our gabage?
Please place full garbage bags in the wooden trash bins (in a garbage can) on the south west corner of our property (corner of Union and Center).
